Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority
Ffermio Bro Advisor
Fixed Term until 31/03/2028
Part Time- 4 days per week

Ffermio Bro is a national programme delivered locally within Wales’ National Landscapes, supporting farmers to enhance and protect nature as part of their working farm businesses. In Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, we have been working with landowners for over 30 years, building a strong network of trusted relationships. Through Ffermio Bro, we are expanding that work—providing more support to farmers and the wider farming community to deliver meaningful benefits for nature.

Now entering year two of a three-year programme running to March 2028, this is a fast-paced, delivery-focused role with clear timelines and real opportunity to make an impact. You’ll work directly with farmers, both one-to-one and across clusters, developing practical projects and delivering targeted capital interventions that create visible, lasting change on the ground.

Current priorities include coastal and traditional boundaries, and water quality—supporting farmers to reduce sediment and runoff, contribute to natural flood management, and improve habitat connectivity across the landscape. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, with responsibility for shaping projects alongside farmers and developing funding proposals, which are then reviewed through internal processes and the Local Assessment Panel.

We’re looking for someone personable, approachable, and confident working with farmers, with a strong understanding of agricultural systems and the realities of farming in rural Wales. You’ll need to be organised, self-motivated, and able to manage your own workload effectively to meet programme deadlines. Experience of project delivery, along with confidence using spreadsheets, data, and ideally GIS mapping systems, will be an advantage.

The role is a mix of field-based work and office-based planning, mapping, and administration. Travel across Pembrokeshire will be required. But there is a strong possibility of Regional working within the National Park. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team, building on existing relationships while helping to develop new collaborations and opportunities.

Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to align with farming schedules.
Above all, this is a role for someone who wants to work alongside farmers to deliver practical outcomes—supporting both nature recovery and resilient farm businesses.

Salary and Benefits:
A salary of £35,412-38,220 (PRO RATA) per annum, minimum 25 days holiday rising to 30 days plus public holidays, generous local government pension scheme, great flexible working arrangements and career development opportunities.

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

We pledge to improve the diversity of our workforce and therefore guarantee an interview to disabled candidates, who meet the essential job criteria and opt to apply via our Disability Confident Employers Scheme.
